📄 GUIDELINES FOR REGISTRATION OF COOPERATIVE SOCIETIES

🧾 1. APPLICATION
All groups intending to register a Cooperative Society shall:
- Submit a formal application letter addressed to:
The Honourable Commissioner
Kano State Ministry of Investment, Commerce, Industries and Cooperatives
- Clearly state the proposed name of the Cooperative Society
👥 2. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT
- A Cooperative Society must have not less than ten (10) members
- The group must appoint the following officers:
- President / Chairman
- Vice President / Vice Chairman
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Other members
💳 3. PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE
- A non-refundable registration fee of ₦15,000 is required
- Payment must be made via:

- Evidence of payment (receipt) must be submitted along with the application
📂 4. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED
Applicants are required to submit:
- Formal application letter
- List of members (minimum of 10)
- Details of executive officers
- Proposed name of the Cooperative Society
- Evidence of payment
⏳ 5. PROCESSING TIME
- All applications shall be processed within five (5) working days, subject to completeness and verification of submitted documents
📜 6. APPROVAL AND CERTIFICATION
- Upon successful review and approval:
- A Certificate of Registration will be issued
- The Cooperative Society will receive the State Approved By-Laws
⚠️ 7. IMPORTANT NOTES
- Incomplete applications will not be processed
- The proposed name must be unique and acceptable
- The Ministry reserves the right to approve or reject any application
