Agriculture & AgriBusiness occupies a prominent position and has been the major activities in the state, these leads to high commitment to Import & Export of commodities through the state famous and largest commodity market in West Africa (Dawanau Market). The State has more than 1.8m hectares of arable land all of which only 30% is cultivated and put to use. Kano State has over 58 inland water bodies with potentials for all year round irrigation. The dams has the capacity ranging from 260k to 1.9 million cubic meters with a total occupied area of about 57k hectares of land. Livestock, Fishery & Crop Production/Busines/Farming ranging from Cereals, Legumes, Oil Seeds, Fibres, Spices estimated to be N721b in value. This constitutes to about 50% of the Gross state Products in 2013.
